Ex-Council Secretary Flags Off Chairmanship Campaign

Ex-Secretary to Isolo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye, has flagged off his chairmanship campaign, saying that the welfare of the people will be his priority if elected into office as the next chairman of the LCDA in the forthcoming local government elections.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at Ishagatedo, Isolo, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Shaame as he his fondly called added that with his experience in local government administration, his target is to become the best chairman in the state.

“I’m not going to the council for the fun of it. I have received awards for the best supervisor for health and best Secretary to the Local Government and my target is to become the best council chairman in Lagos. I know its not by words but by performance.

He said further that part of his agenda is to ensure that 50 roads in Okota are motorable within his first 100 days in office, as well as provide a health centre in Apena area of the LCDA within the first six months of his administration.

“The greatest development challenge that we have in Ilasamaja is flooding. Therefore, we will seek the assistance of the state on this, and ensure that all connecting drainages to the canal are cleared.

“In Akinbaye Street, we have three roads there, which are Panada, Atuyeye and Lafenwa. That road is a nightmare to motorists and we will ensure that it become passable. Aregbesola, Ajao Estate, Olokun, Adedeji, Osolo way, Ishagatedo and Adebajo will not be left out,” he assured.

“In my tenure, indigenes and indigent students of the council will receive bursary awards from the local government. We will rehabilitate primary schools and make the environment more conducive for our pupils,” he pledged.

He promised not to neglect the aged and the youths, while providing soft loan for the women folks through micro finance banks as well as revive sports in the LCDA.
