Lagos State House of Assembly member, Prince Yinka Ogundimu, representing Agege Constituency 02 has given out relief materials to victims of the flood disaster in Agege.

The lawmaker donated mattresses and other items to the victims at his constituency office at Orile Road, Agege.

In attendance at the ceremony was the coordinator for human right activists in the area, Mr. Olufemi Emmanuel, 50.

“We appreciate the kind gesture of Hon. Yinka Ogundimu. People might say why mattresses, out of all we lost. I think others should emulate him. Nothing is too small,” he said.

A representative of Prince Yinka Ogundimu appealed to the victims not to lose hope, adding: “we feel the excruciating pains and loss by you. This is why we are giving out these items. When Hon. Ogundimu returns from his trip abroad, he will do more.”

Commenting on the donation, an activist, Comrade Declan Ihekaire, said: “when we moved round to look at the affected people and houses for compilation, some people thought we were joking. Some landlords abused us and told us to go away that we had nothing to offer.”
