Quarter finalist in the wrestling event at the just concluded National Sports Festival held in Port Harcourt, Gabriel Ede, has called on stakeholders in the sport to show interest in the welfare of wrestlers in the country.

Ede made this call while speaking with P.M.Sports on the problems facing the game.

He said wrestlers need encouragement and good welfare package for them to perform well, arguing that wrestling involves strength and good frame of mind.

Commenting on his exit at the quarter final stage at the festival, Ede blamed anxiety and inexperience on his lackluster performance, stating that the atmosphere was strange to him as a debutant at the biennial sports fiesta.
