Following the flood occasioned by the torrential rainfall in Lagos recently, a concerned citizen at Papa Asafa area of Agege Local Government Area of the state, Comrade Sunday Akintunde, has donated relief materials to victims in the area.
During the brief ceremony yesterday, Akintunde, the acting chairman of National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), donated 50 bags of rice, cartons of milk and biscuits, among other things to the affected members of the area.
Akintunde said the donation was borne out of sympathy for the victims and his desire to assist the needy at all times.
He added that it was also part of his contribution to the development of the area, among other things.
The union leader stressed that government must also be supported by all in its efforts to meet its social responsibility to the people of the state.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Wasilat Atobajaye, described Akintunde’s kind gesture as Godly and prayed to God to replenish him abundantly.
Dignitaries at the occasion include Mr. Oluwaseyi Sarumi, Councillor for Ward D; Chief Oyedele Olusola and Oladipupo Oni, among others.
