There are strong indications that Nigeria Badminton team are heading to a disastrous outing at the forth coming All Africa Games in Maputo.

According to 2muchsports.com, the chief coach of the team, Danjuma Tafarachi, is putting aside merit in the selection of players that would represent the nation at the Games.

The rules of the federation says, all players that falls within the Top 10 on national ranking and those who qualified from the last National Open Badminton championship in Abuja would be called to camp to prepare for their participation at the forth coming All Africa Games in Maputo.

But, investigation however, revealed that the coach had jettisoned this rule by inviting players who did not fall within that category and dropping some who are duely qualified from all standard.

Defending his action, Tafarachi disclosed that he purposely dropped players on the Top 10 ranking because they are not good enough to be invited to camp.

“That ranking is outdated, we are not basing our invitation on that, because most of the players within that ranking are too old and some of them had even married,” he said.
