The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has been given a hard knock over its remarks which castigating the Fashola-led administration in the state, over the recent flood that devastated the state.
A chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mr. Kunle Ademoye, described the statement as the ranting of a drowning man, who is ever so desperate in pulling down everything along with him.
The fact, according to him, is that PDP is already dead and buried as long as Lagos State if concerned and members of the party know it is dead, so the only way they felt they could be relevant is by playing to the gallery and whipping up sentiments in order to hoodwink gullible ones just because of the coming local government election.
Ademoye said they should know that they have already failed because this is a party of charlatans, filled with comic jokes and political frauds, who are deficient of every iota of honour and integrity.
The former Chairman, House Committee on Housing in the Lagos State House of Assembly, said it should have dawned on the PDP that they are born losers and no amount of federal might or false propaganda would earn them an inch in Lagos, be it in the coming local government election in the state or any election whatsoever.
He said the PDP members themselves knew this fact but would not be forthcoming to confess it, adding that in their privacy, they tell themselves the hard truth about the sagacious grassroots leadership of the ACN leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the incredible success runs of the state governor, Barrister Babatunde Fashola.
He buttressed the foregoing with the statement by Sentor Bode Olajumoke, who sometimes ago came out frankly to party members that Lagos State would be a hard nut for them to crack because of the dynamic administration of Governor Fashola.
“Anyone who is in doubt of the abysmal failure and helplessness of the PDP in Lagos should simply refer to the papers for the comment of Alhaji Rafiu Jafojo, a PDP chieftain, who literally took the party to the cleaners, describing it in the most harshly and uncomplimentary terms,†said Ademoye.
“If a chieftain of the party and a top one for that matter could be so brutally frank in his confession of the rotteness of the party, then that speaks volumes,†he stated further, adding that the defeatist and pessimistic mentality which the average PDP member harbours about the party is now unabashedly discussed freely, as their sense of frustration became so overwhelming that they can no longer hide it.
He therefore urged the generality of Lagosians to reject the PDP totally at the coming council polls in October, adding that it is a party they cannot affort to dine with, even with a ten-feet spoon.
