A 48-year-old woman has hanged herself in her room at 17, Irawo-Wuro Street, Isheri Oshun, a suburb of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
The deceased whose name was given as Elizabeth Andrew was said to have hanged herself on a window burglary bar on the fateful day before people arrived from work.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, while speaking with PMNEWS wondered why someone would take his or her life no matter the frustration.
“Why must someone take his or her life? No matter the frustration one may face in life, it is not permanent, there is hope as long as one is alive.â€
Similarly, a middle aged man has been arrested for driving dangerously and killing a pedestrian along Shasha Road, Akowonjo.
According to the police, the suspect whose name was given as charles drove a Mitsubishi van marked FB548APP along Shasha Road, Akowonjo area of Lagos State in a dangerous manner and in the process hit Gideon Bassey.
The victim was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died. Charles, the driver is said to be detained at the Akowonjo Police Station.
The corpse has been taken to mortuary for autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Jinadu said he will continue to remind motorists of the need to drive with care to avoid accident.
