Group Donates To Police

In a bid to assist the police in community policing, the Committee for the Defence of People’s Rights, CDPR, have donated some stationery to the police at Ojokoro Division, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

While presenting the items which include bail bond, bond to produce, statement form (both plain and cautionary) to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Ojokoro Police Station, Mr Muritala Raji (CSP), the National Secretary of the group, Comrade Femi Ade, said the gesture is a way to assit the police in their job.

He said the organisation found that the police are using their meagre salary to buy such items which should not be.

“We discovered that the police officers are buying these stationery from the little salary they earn so this is the little way we can assit and encourage them to perform,” Ade said.

While receiving the items, the DPO of Ojokoro Police Station, Mr. Muritala Raji, CSP, thanked the group and promised to make judicious use of the items. He solicited the cooperation of the group in the area of information and promised that any information received will be kept secret.

“On behalf of myself and officers and men of this division, I say thank you and God bless you for this kind gesture and I promise we are going to use these items for the benefit of all.

“I also want to appeal to you to always come forward with useful information because information is very vital in our work and any information we get is going to be treated with confidence,” Raji said.
