A unidentified gunman shot and killed a manager and his assistant inside an electronic warehouse.

The incident occurred inside Peavey Electronics Nigeria Limited warehouse at Herbert Macauley Way, opposite Casino Bus Stop, Yaba, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

Though details of the incident were still sketchy as at press time, sources within the vicinity said that the unidentified gunman arrived the place on a motorcycle with the rider.

They were said to have parked by the roadside and the rider throttling the bike, while the gunman went inside the warehouse and pretended to be a customer who came to buy electronics gadgets.

He was said to have spent much time looking round all the electronic gadgets before he suddenly brought out a gun from inside his clothes and shot at the manager identified as Anthony Obiakor at point blank range. And he reportedly died instantly.

It was also gathered that the office assistant named Chinedu Uga, who reportedly heard a loud bang inside the shop when the gun was fired rushed inside the shop to know what was happening, but was also shot by the assailant in the abdomen.

The office assistant was said to have rushed outside the building crying for help and fell down beside the median on Herbert Macualey Way opposite the building housing the warehouse.

The gunman, it was learnt, still went to him and shot him on the head and he died immediately.

The source further informed P.M.NEWS that the assailant quickly jumped on the waiting motorcycle and fled.

It was also gathered at the scene of the incident that the gunman reportedly did not take anything inside the shop, fuelling speculations that the incident might be a case of premeditated murder.

The police at the Adekunle Division were said to have stormed the scene on receiving the information but the gunman had escaped before their arrival.

All efforts by P.M.NEWS to speak with people close to the shop proved abortive as the large shop in the one storey building was padlocked.

When P.M.NEWS visited the Yaba Police Division, Adekunle, to see the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, for comment over the incident, he was said to have gone to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters for a meeting.

A police source confirmed the incident, adding that they have launched a manhunt to track down the fleeing gunman.

When P.M.NEWS also called the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DPS Samuel Jinadu over the incident, he confirmed it, stating that the matter was under investigation.
