Banker Dies Of Drug Addiction


A former banker, simply identified as Suru has been found dead at Ladipo Street, Ikeja.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Suru, a regular caller at a drug base in Ikeja area of Lagos State for the past 14 years died of drug overdose.

A member of the Fela Fans Club, Holy Moses, was said to have informed officials of LASAMBUS who picked his corpse and deposited it at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary for autopsy.

When P.M.NEWS visited the scene where he was found dead this morning, some of his colleagues were seen discussing his death.

Holy Moses confirmed his use of hard drugs, saying that he was hooked on cocaine for more than 22 years.

“I am not suprised that he died of cocaine addiction,” he added.

A former drug peddler in the area who did not want his name in print, confirmed that the late Suru was a drug addict. “I used to sell “gbana” for him when I was in the business,” he stated.

Efforts to locate members of his family and relatives proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
