2014 World Cup: Easy Draw Excites Kalika

Super Eagles’ assistant coach, Simon Kalika, has said that Nigeria are lucky to be in an easy group for the qualifiers of Brazil 2010 World Cup.

Nigeria were grouped alongside Malawi, winners of Seychelles and Kenya as well as Djibouti and Namibia game.

Kalika said that Eagles are fortunate to be in an easy group in the qualifying series.

“It is the easiest of all the groups. I can tell you facts about the teams in our group. I’m so happy that we are lucky to be in an easy group,” said Kalika.

However, Kalika said the team will not go to sleep because they have been placed in an easy group, adding that the coaches will work hard in order to make the finals in Brazil in 2014.

“Though it is an easy group, we still respect our opponents. We just have to do our work so that we can go to the World Cup. We respect them but we are Nigerians,” Kalika said.

Nigeria was eliminated in the first round of the South Africa 2010 World Cup.
