A national sports newspaper, A.M.SPORTS was unveiled in Lagos today. The newspaper, which is coming out on the stable of A.M.SPORTS Limited, a subsidiary of Independent Communications Nigeria Limited, ICNL, is out to contribute positively to the development of sports journalism in Nigeria.

Speaking at the public presentation of the newspaper at the secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Lagos chapter in Ikeja today, Managing Director and Editor-In-Chief of ICNL, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said A.M.SPORTS is out to correct a lot of things in sports reporting in the country.

He noted that many sports newspapers in Nigeria focus more on foreign events they lift from the internet, “but A.M.SPORTS is coming out to give Nigerians a new dimension in sports journalism.”

In his own remarks, the Managing Editor of A.M.SPORTS, Mr. Babajide Kolade-Otitoju believes in the success of the new sports paper, adding that the crew parades quality staff with track record in sports journalism.
