Secretary of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, Remi Aboderin, has commended the efforts of the Lagos Boxing Hall Of Fame, LBHF for development of boxing in Lagos State. The boxing scribe stated this in a telephone chat with Boxing In Focus.
According to Aboderin, the superb performance displayed by the state’s boxing team at the recently concluded 17th National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt shows the positive impact of LBHF on the development of boxing in the state.
“The contribution of the LBHF to the development of boxing in the state cannot be overemphasized. You can see how Lagos State’s boxing team made a clean sweep of the boxing medals at the 17th National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt,†said Aboderin.
However, Aboderin, who is also the chairman of Freels & Threels, said that the corporate bodies need to contribute their own quota to the development of boxing in the state and not concentrate their resources only on football, adding that football is just one of the sports in the country.
“Corporate bodies also need to contribute their quota to the development of boxing and sports in general. They need to realise that football is not the only sport in the country and concentrate on other sports too,†said the boxing scribe.
