Glo Supports Iri Ama Festival

The traditional ruler of Abiriba Kingdom in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu, the Enechioken of Abiriba, has commended Globacom Nigeria for living up to its social responsibility and communal care in the country.

The monarch gave the commendation while speaking on the sponsorship of the week-long Iri Ama festival of Abiriba.

The paramount ruler stated that the people of his kingdom would continue to appreciate and cooperate with Globacom to reciprocate the gesture from the telecommunication outfit.

“We are happy and proud of Globacom for being part of this year’s historic event. We will be pleased to have them support us again next year,” he added.

Earlier, the Group Chief Operating Officer of Globacom, Mr. Mohammed Jameel, had in his goodwill message read by Mr. Ikenna Aguwuom, the Abia State Manager of the company, told the people that the company was happy to identify with the passion of the good people of Abiriba Kingdom, stressing that the event was a demonstration of “manlines and courage” among the people.

He told the joyful crowd at Amaukwu Ihiegbu Square venue of the event that “any man who can feed his family on tubers of yam from one harvest to another is a great man indeed and such a man rules the world.”

According to him, “Being a Nigerian company, Globacom is proud to promote our valued tradition and custom. This is because we understand our people better and we value our heritage better.”

While reaffirming the company’s commitment to promotion of tradition, culture and customs, he thanked the royal fathers for giving Globacom the opportunity to be part of the event, pointing out that “Globacom is a proudly Nigerian brand, born to empower our people and regenerate hope in our country and flying the country’s flag in several countries.”
