Ajimobi Swears-In LG Caretaker Chairmen

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has declared that the newly appointed caretaker chairmen of the 33 local governments in the state would not be eligible to contest the local government election after their tenure.

Governor Ajimobi who made this know today at the swearing in ceremony of the caretaker chairmen, added that their tenure is renewable after three months.

He promised that those who performed well would be considered for other political appointments in the state.

He urged them to be transparent, loyal and honest in their respective positions, stressing that they should put the people’s interest above their personal interest.

The governor said that pacesetting is about quality service to the people and not fraudulent leadership.

Some of the new council chairmen, Wasiu Olatubosun of Ibadan North West; Akeem Adeyemi of Atiba LG (son of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111) and Abass Aleshinloye of Ibadan South West who spoke on behalf of others promised to render selfless service.

They promised to improve the lots of the masses in their respective local government areas.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State House of Assembly has commenced the screening of 16 nominees for commissioners submitted by Ajimobi.

The screening is being held in the parliamentary caucus room.
