First Bank Basketball Club of Lagos yesterday made a bold statement about their ambition to reclaim the Premier League trophy from the current champions, First Deepwater, as they continue their impressive run in the second phase of the Zenith League holding in Akure, Ondo State. They defeated Immigration of Kano with 116-34 points.

The coach Adewunmi Aderemi-tutored First Bank had in their first two games pummeled their opponents, Plateau Rocks of Jos and Delta Force of Asaba by wide margins of 98-25 and 100-43 points respectively.

They, however, had to be at their best to beat Sunshine Angels, hosts of the second phase, by 11 points margin as they survived a stiff challenge from the hosts, who had the support of their home fans as the game ended in 86-75 points.
