The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Rivers State has expressed shock over the death of Mrs Margaret Abe, Mother of the Senator representing Rivers South East, Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe.
ACN said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by the Publicity Secretary, Jerry Needam, “We received with rude shock the sad news of the demise of Mrs Margaret Abe, he mother of Senator Magnus Abe, Senator Representing Rivers East Senatorial District.
“ACN in Rivers State, a democratic party that values life, shares in the pain at this time of bereavement and understand the difficulty in coming to terms with this unfortunate incident.
“We share the grief of Senator Magnus Abe and family at the sad and sudden departure of the mother. We are, nevertheless consoled by the assurance of her blissful eternity in the bosom of the Lord as well as by her remarkable legacies of a worthy life in Christ Jesus.â€
According to ACN, “the passing on of this great Ogoni mother has left a yawning gap in Ogoni land and inflicted a deep wound in our collective aspiration towards a more glorious future for the Ogoni people in particular, and our dear fatherland, in general.
“As we join Senator Magnus Abe in mourning this great loss, we pray that God would grant Senator Abe and family the fortitude to bear the demise of Mrs Abe a great Ogoni mother and grant her soul eternal peace.
