Archbishop-elect of Goodnews Miracle Bible Church, Dr. George Irivbemi Amu, has sued for peaceful coexistence among adherents of the two major religions in the country.

Dr. Amu who made this call at a programme organised by his church to announce his consecration as an archbishop and that of three of his members as bishops in the church, said Muslims and Christians must learn to relate together and eschew violence.

“There should be a cordial relationship between Christians and Muslims. As a Bishop, I relate very well with the Chief Imam of Lagos and we invite each other for meals in our homes,” he added.

The archbishop-elect also condemned the Governor Of Central Bank of Nigeria, Malam Sanusi Lamido for his controversial Islamic banking and advised him to be a builder “not a destroyer.”

Dr. Amu advised members of the Islamic fundamentalist sect, Boko Haram to stop the killing and burning of properties, adding that they should dialogue with the government to resolve whatever problem they had with the government.
