The much awaited Intercontinental Wrestling Championship tagged BRF Wrestlemania which is scheduled to hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria will now be staged from 13-16 September.
P.M.Sports gathered that the Local Organising Committee, LOC of the tournament, which is being held to honour Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, arrived at the new date after due consultation with the Office of the Lagos State Governor in order to give Fashola time to witness the final of the championship.
The LOC headed by Primate Charles Odugbesi is working round the clock to ensure that the tournament, which will feature 14 Nigerian wrestlers and 10 foreigners, is held as planned.
Tournament Coordinator, Alhaji Hammed Mohammed, a former Afro-Asian wrestling champion, told P.M.Sports that while the bouts will start on 13 September, on the 15th has been reserved as a rest day, while the final will hold on 16 September.
