Five People Injured In An Accident In Ibadan

Three elderly men reading newspapers at the newsstand at Elewure junction, Iyana Bodija Area of Ibadan, capital of Oyo State and a woman on okada with her rider were seriously injured in an accident that occurred at about 9:30am today.

The five injured persons were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.

According to eye witnesses account, a car coming from Sango hit a bus with registration number Oyo XF 654 BDJ causing the driver to lose control.

In a bid to control the vehicle, he swerved toward a solar street light pole in front of a two-storey building and pulled it down.

The vehicle also ran over two motorcycles carrying a woman.

People around assisted the affected people by pulling them from the vehicle under which they were trapped.

The driver of the bus immediately ran away.

The vendor selling newspapers at the spot thank God for sparing his life, saying, he would have been hit if not that he left the stand to sell newspapers at the other side of the road.

At the time of filing this report, men of Federal Road Safety Corps were already at the scene of the accident trying to restore order.
