Nigerian senior national basketball team, D’Tigers, was defeated yesterday by Great Britain by 95-80 points.

The match played in Cobham England was part of the warm up matches lined up for the team as they continue preparation for the All Africa Nations Cup, Afrobasket, to be held in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Nigeria-born Ogo Adeboye, who was part of the Great Britain’s team, was the star man of the match, as they ran away with a comfortable win.

The Chris Finch-tutored side was equally using the match for next week’s London 2012 test event at the new Olympic arena and the EuroBasket finals in Lithuania next month.

Finch was delighted with the performance of Mike Lenzly and Andrew Lawrence.

“It was a good win, Nigeria was a better team than Holland,” he said after the match.

D’Tigers’ coach, John Lucas, an American and former NBA coach, said after the match: “We have a lot of guys here and we’ve shown we’ve got a lot of depth, and we look forward to continue building on this experience.”
