Former Super Eagles player, Friday Elaho and ex-Flying Eagles’ coach, Tunde Disu, are optimistic that the Nigerian team will come out victorious when they confront France on Sunday in the quarter final of the ongoing World Youth Championship in Colombia

Elaho dismissed France’s threat in the quarter final match, saying that the African champions have what it takes to go far in the tournament.

“France cannot be a threat to the Flying Eagles. I expect our team to surprise their opponents on Sunday. Both teams have done well in the tournament so I don’t expect anything short of victory on Sunday,” said the former Africa Sports FC of Ivory Coast star.

Disu has predicted the downfall of the French U-20 team in Sunday’s cracker. Disu said the Flying Eagles have gained the confidence to triumph over any team in the championship after beating England, who have been playing with a record of 13 matches unbeaten in the WYC.

‘‘The boys have done us proud by breaking the unbeaten records of the English side at the World Youth Championship. By doing this, they have gained the needed confidence to forge ahead and win the competition,’’ he said.

He hailed the team for their superlative display at the second round game against England and advised the technical crew not to leave anything to chance as they prepare to confront the French team on Sunday.
