A woman boxer, Nofisat Hassan, has said that her dream is to become a world champion in future. Hassan gave the revelation recently in an interview with Boxing In Focus after her bout with Elizabeth Osoja at the 22nd Monthly Saturday Boxing Show organised by Lagos Boxing Hall Of Fame at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre (Rowe Park), Yaba, Lagos.
Hassan said she is into boxing because she wants to become a renowned boxer that would be celebrated around the world.
“I want to become a world boxing champion and I am ready to work hard to achieve my goal. I know it is through hard work that I can fulfil my dream,†said the woman pugilist.
Hassan, a student of Ota High School, said her family members support her boxing career.
“My family are in support of my boxing career. Perhaps I would have given it up if they have not been encouraging me.
“They keep urging me to go ahead with what I am doing and their words of encouragement have been helping me in pursuit of my dream career†said Hassan.
Asked whether she intended to give up her education for boxing, Hassan said education is her utmost priority at the moment and cannot give it up for boxing.
“I cannot give up my education for boxing. In fact, my education comes first before every other thing and that includes boxing. And yet I will not give up my boxing career because I love it so much,†said Hassan.
