Senior executives from Mack Truck Headquarters in America, recently completed a working visit to Lanre Shittu Motors, LSM, to evaluate the progress of the company’s strategy to significantly grow its business and to re-enforce their age long business and technical support relationship with the only accredited dealer of Mack trucks in Nigeria.

The strategy is aimed at strengthening Mack’s position in primary markets, pushing resources closer to customers, acquiring and developing world class talent, bettering communities and promoting corporate responsibility. The Mack’s delegation hosted meetings with partners, business executives and the Guild of Motoring Correspondents in Nigeria.

The visit will culminate with a ceremony later in the year to officially open the new LSM’s multi-bilion naira new facility in Abuja adjudged to be Mack’s best.

“Mack is working to push its Nigeria strategy across the states, helping to transform potential into opportunity for the businesses and communities we serve,” said Mack’s Vice President, After Sales International, Guilherme Blaschke. “Nigeria holds significant promise as a market for Mack and we aim to be leaders by delivering products and services tailored specifically to the unique needs of the countries and regions in which we operate.”

In addition to Blaschke, the Mack delegation included Vice President Middle East and Africa, International Operations Frank Oliveira; Parts, Sales Manager, International Operations Ben Gantayet and Regional Service Manager Richard Charlton.

Mack’s strategy is designed to quadruple sales on the continent over the next five years with a focus on the following principles: Achieving a leading market position in oil and gas, construction and transport and differentiating the company through superior service and customer support by placing resources closer to customers.

Guild of Motoring Correspondents, Nigeria, however, pledged its support to the visiting executives, while calling for improved relationship with the company to enhance good reportage.

R.O. Shittu, CEO, Lanre Shittu Motors, said “We’re proud to be part of the only heavy-duty truck manufacturing group from North America.
