Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar, has reiterated his commitment to the completion of all ongoing projects in the ports, saying that congestion at the seaports will soon become a thing of the past.
He stated this recently when receiving the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Engr. Omar Suleiman, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The minister affirmed that the NPA is a key parastatal in the ministry and that everything possible will be done to ensure a successful realisation of the presidentâ€™s transformation agenda.
Umar advised the officials of the Transport Ministry to ensure that there is good relationship and constant interface with the staff of all the parastatals under the ministry.
The minister also advised all the workers in the ministry to always avoid disagreements with management of all the parastatals and be prepared to add value in their various offices.
He thanked God and Nigerians for the opportunity given to him to serve again, having earlier served as a member of the National Assembly.
Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Mr. Pius Major and Director, Maritime Services, Mr. Suleman Musa Nagogo, while those who accompanied the managing director included the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mr. Tola Atekoja and Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services, Engr. Yusuf Haruna, among others.
