The warning strike embarked upon by Enugu State workers has entered its fourth day today, with all the offices of the state ministries and parastatals locked, reports Jude Orji.

The workers defied the state government’s order of no work, no pay. In continuation of the strike this morning, the workers gathered at a field opposite the state cabinet office to protest against the state government. They want N10,000 salary increase for workers on level 1-6 and N5,000 for those on level 7 and above.

The workers claimed that the state only has about 5000 workers, therefore they believed it has enough funds to pay the N18,000 new minimum wage approved by the Federal Government.
