The members of 3-Wheelers Association, Ogun State, have protested the appointment of Hon. Adeleke Sulaimon, the Chairman, Ogun State House Committee on Transport, to head the 11-member committee set up to look into the crisis between the 3-Wheelers and National Union of Road Transport Workers [NURTW].
The 3-Wheelers claimed that before his political appointment, Hon Sulaimon was a staunch member of the NURTW/RTEAN, and therefore feared that he would be biased in his committee’s report on the crisis.
According to the chairman of the 3-Wheelers association, Saheed Daleko, “we will implore the authorities concerned to appoint a neutral person to investigate the matter, not someone who has all the tendencies to be sentimental.â€
There had been crisis between members of NURTW/RTEAN and the 3-Wheelers following the directive of the Ogun State House of Assemblyon 13 July, 2011 that each of the associations should work independently.
