A chairmanship aspirant of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Oshodi\Isolo Local Government Area, Daisi Oso, has promised to improve the game of boxing and the sports facilities at Oshodi, if elected as the new boss of the council.
Oso stated this while declaring his ambition to contest for the forthcoming Oshodi \Isolo Local Government chairmanship election.
Addressing journalists at Oshodi Primary School, Oshodi, Lagos State, Oso said his first primary duty when elected is to empower the youth through sports, adding that boxing competition will be held regularly to keep the youth busy and productive.
â€œMy concern is to empower the youth through sports when I become the next chairman of our great council. We have so many talents in Oshodi\Isolo especially in boxing. I will use my personality to contact some boxing experts abroad to come and develop the game in our council,â€ he said.
The local government chairman aspirant promised to build at least five boxing rings, organise a monthly boxing competition and kit participating boxers during his admin strati on if elected as the council chairman.
â€œWe need to provide an enabling environment for our boxers to train. This will motivate them to give in their best for the country. We are not going to concentrate on football alone; we need to develop other sports like table tennis,â€ he said.
Oso pointed out that before sports can strive in the local government,there is need for him to provide facilities at various areas in the council.
â€œIt is pertinent to upgrade and provide more facilities in all the playing grounds in Oshodi and Isolo areas. I want to assure the youth that if I become the chairman of the local government, my administration will live up to expectations,â€ he said
He promised to improve the living condition of the youths in the area through job creations and sporting activities
