A 15-year old boy identified as Sina Odeyale was today burnt to death when fire razed a building in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Southwest, Nigeria.
The boy was burnt beyond recognition as the fire completely razed the 10-room building located at Obamaja Compound, at Oke-Sokori area of Abeokuta North Local Government Council Area of the state.
Properties worth thousands of naira were destroyed by the inferno.
According to an eye-witness account, Shina was reportedly trapped in the house after a kerosene lantern exploded in his father’s house.
While his father, Pa Zacheaus Odeyale, escaped to safety, Shina could only struggle to the corridor, before he fell and got burnt. The building was completely razed before the men of the State Fire Service arrived the scene hours later.
Occupants of the house were however appealing to the appropriate government bodies to come to their aid as all their possessions got burnt.
