A few hours before the commencement of this year’s edition of African Basketball Cup of Nations tagged “Afrobasket 2011” holding in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the hotel camp of the senior national team, D’Tigers, is bubbling with excitement as the players look forward to their first match against Mali tonight.

P.M Sports was informed early today by the Media Officer of Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, Olusegun Ikuesan, that the players are in high spirits and raring to get into the court.

Ikuesan said: “All the players are ready to start the dunking and slamming battle against their Malian opponents. It is clear that they are hungry for competitive basketball action.

“The coaches are not leaving anything to chance as I could see them perfecting their strategies. This goes to show the level of seriousness and importance they attach to the championship,” he stated.

The Coach Ayo Bakare-tutored side had their major camping in the United States of America. They came back into the country last Thursday and flew out to Madagascar enroute Nairobi through Kenya Airlines.
