Contrary to insinuations by a group in Epe town that the incumbent chairman of Epe Local Government, Lagos, has not performed to the expectation of the residents in the past three years, the chairman, Dr. Segun Agbaje, has declared that his administration has delivered more dividends of democracy to the people in all spheres of life than any past administration of the local government.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, he described the non-performance claims by what he called a faceless group and their spurious allegations, as mere blackmail and propaganda to curry political favour from some quarters.

The problem, according to him, is that the present Epe Local Government administration refused to entrust the local government treasury in their hands and take orders from them.

“We told them that we must not allow the status quo then to continue because we were elected by the people of Epe and we must be answerable to them; since then, there has been rebellion, we are not going to sop the good work we are doing in Epe.

“Our achievements in Epe Local Government Area are too numerous to mention; we constructed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu E-learning Centre, six classrooms and borehole at Zumuratul Islamiyat Primary School, 18 classrooms and boreholes at Luyepo, six classrooms at Abejoye and six classrooms at Erepoto.

“We also provided empowerment programme for the youths, bursary award to 200 indigent students, desk and benches, exercise books for all the primary schools in Epe,” he said.

He said the council administration has also provided two new Toyota Hiace vans to the Epe Police Division and one van to the Ibile Vigilantes to provide maximum security for the residents, and constructed Shabi Adeyemi Hassan, Kasali Oluwo, Abidekun and Olokodana streets with drainages
