Lagos Island Promised Better Deal

An Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, chairmanship aspirant in Lagos Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Prince Ajasa Olasheni, has pledged to touch the lives of residents in the local government through laudable programmes if elected in the forthcoming council polls.

Olasheni pledged that his administration, if elected would lay emphasis on free and qualitative education for children.

“We are going to restore the old glory and qualitative free education for our children. Our schools will be competing well with private schools under our free education programme”, he revealed.

He pledged to re-introduce free school bus scheme whereby children would be taken to schools within the local government area in the morning and brought back home in the afternoon.

“Majority of us enjoyed this gesture during our school days which made us to concentrate more on our studies. Also the issue of non-payment of teacher’s salary will be a thing of the past and continuous teacher training would be introduced to meet world standard in teaching of pupils”, he declared.

According to him, “We will also engage our youths in sporting activities that will enhance their good quality in representing the local government, state and Nigeria in international events.”

Olasheni who claimed to have lived among the grassroots people on the Island for over 40 years declared, “With my experience among my people, I know where the shoe pinches and I know the possible solution to it.”

“With my back ground as a grassroots man, I cannot allow our city to deteriorate and I will not allow my people to suffer in silence without care”, he added.
