Following the rumour being peddled around that the leadership of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), has given some council chairmen that have served two terms in Lagos State the nod to run for another term, those behind a chairmanship aspirant in Odi Olowo-Ojuwoye Local Councl Development Area, Alhaji Gbolahan Ismaila Idowu Irawo, has been advised people peddling such rumour not to mislead the electorate, saying party leader ever said anything like that.

According to him, “what our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said at the meeting held at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ogba, Ikeja, after commending everyone of us for the victory in the last elections was that chairmen that have served for the first time and performed well will be allowed to continue in office and for the councillors, those that did well in their first term and have no problem with their leaders and chairmen will return, while those that attempted to impeach their chairmen will not be allowed.

“He said if you have served two terms, there is no third term except two chairmen that he wanted the party to give to him and never mentioned any name.”

He called on the chairmen who have been deceiving the electorate to desist from using the party leaders to cause confusion, while also calling on the electorate not to be carried away by the rumour, saying that he believes that the party leaders will not do what the people would not like.

He also advised the electorate to see that the candidate they want to cast their vote for is capable of fulfilling his or her campaign promises and not those that will only serve their selfish interest, while promising to make Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA a pacesetter in the areas of youth development, job creation, economy, social, infrastructure and human development, if voted into office as chairman.
