Members and ring officials of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, are currently in Lusaka, Zambia, for a three day convention of the Africa Boxing Union, ABU, which began yesterday and ends tomorrow.

Secretary of the board, Remi Aboderin, said that both the convention and seminar will give participants from the country the opportunity to interact with officials from other African countries.
“Apart from the fact that our officials will be taking part in both the convention and the seminar, they will also have the privilege to exchange ideas with representatives from other English and French speaking African countries where they will deliberate on how professional boxing can move forward in Africa,†said the NBB of Câ€
Commenting on the importance of the seminar to the ring officials, Aboderin said that their participation at the convention will give them the opportunity to learn how to manage situations during professional boxing tournaments.
“The ring officials are very vital to the success of professional boxing activities. These are the referees, judges, ring doctors, gloves masters and time keepers. They will be tutored at the convention on how to comport themselves and how to handle situations during professional bouts,†said Aboderin.
The African Boxing Union, ABU, is the African boxing governing body.
