Stakeholders in Imota Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have called on the leadership of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), to allow the incumbent council chairman, Mr. Ibikunle Adebogun, to continue in office for a second term.

They noted that on the creation of Imota local council in 2003 after a long struggle, there was no single structure in place for the council to take off, but for the effort of the pioneer chairman who was Mr. M. K. Sanni, who discovered and cleared the present site of the local government and the cooperation of the people in the community.

During his administration, Sanni, according to them, was able to build some structures, bore holes were sunk, markets were built, abandoned roads rehabilitated and revenue generation was improved.

Also during the tenure of Ibikunle Adebogun, the scope of the structures was expanded, more staff were employed, more new classrooms built for schools, free health care facilities provided, more roads were rehabilitated and rural roads opened, among other things.

As a result of his excellent performance in office, Adebogun, the residents said, should be given another chance, saying that he lives among the people and knows their problems of Imota,

They therefore appealed to the people of Imota to support Ibikunle Adebogun for a second term for them to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
