The Epe Progressive Youth Wing of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has called on the leadership of the party to immediately remove some of the leaders in Epe.

A statement signed by its secretary, Mr. Lawal Balogun, described as suicidal, the proposed plan of the leaders to return the incumbent council chairman, Mr. Jamiu Agbaje, by all means.

According to the youths, the state party executives need to visit Epe, especially the riverine area of the council to see things for themselves that there is no development in the area, noting, however, that Agbaje could have performed, but for his political godfather.

“If performance remains the yardstick to determine the second term bid of the incumbent council chairmen in Lagos State, Mr. Jamiu Agbaje has measured below standard,” the statement added.

The youths also wondered when one of the accused leaders, Alhaji Seriki, became an authority of ACN in Lagos for him to have single-handedly endorsed the state House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, as the next governor of the state.

“We are ready to work for whosoever the ACN presents as governor in 2015, but let Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other party executives confirm the statement credited to Seriki in the 10 August edition of P.M. NEWS,” they stated.

The youths, who strongly condemned Alhaji Seriki’s comment on the issue, argued that 2015 governorship matter should be the responsibility of the ACN stakeholders.

“Believe it or not, the utterances of Chief Seriki since he visited Ikuforiji is generating serious controversy in Epe, hoping that their son will take over as governor in 2015,” the statement further read.

Meanwhile, efforts to get Alhaji Seriki a.k.a. Bamu, to comment on the issue was unsuccessful.
