Indomie Gives Summer School Pupils Free Lunch

As part of its partnership with Lagos State Government especially in the area of education, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Nigeria’s No. 1 noodles brand, Indomie Instant Noodles, is partnering with the Lagos Empowerment and Resource Network (LEARN), to provide free lunch for students attending the summer school.

LEARN is an initiative of the First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola.

With this partnership, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, will be providing free lunch for students attending summer schools in the six districts of the summer school from 1 August to 10 September, 2011.

According to the Public Relations Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr. Temitope Ashiwaju, the partnership with LEARN is in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility which places high premium on the educational development of  Nigerian children.

“As a brand, Indomie is well known as one of the foremost brands with immense contribution to the development of education at all levels from primary and secondary to tertiary institutions. We are committed to educational development of Nigerian children who are the future of the nation”, he said.

Ashiwaju commended the Lagos State First Lady, Her Excellency, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, for this noble initiative which he said will help to engage the children during the holiday by channelling their energy to productive endeavours instead of roaming the streets during the holiday.

Also commenting on the partnership, the Project Manager LEARN, Mrs. Bisi Awoyomi, commended Dufil Prima Foods for this support which she described as very strategic and helpful as the pupils can now concentrate on their studies at the summer school without having to want to rush home for lunch.

“This Indomie partnership with LEARN has added a new dimension to the summer school, the children are very excited about the Lunch that Indomie is serving them and this is really encouraging them to pay more attention in class since they are very certain that there will be lunch after class”, she said.

Mrs. Awoyomi disclosed that the Summer School is taking place simultaneously in six districts which are District 1, Tomia Secondary School, Alagbado, District 2, Government College Ikorodu and Oregun Secondary School, Oregun, District 3, Eko Akete Junior Secondary School, Ajele for District 4, Surulere Senior Secondary School, District 5, Badagry Grammar School, Badagry, District 6, Oshodi Comprehensive School, Oshodi.
