The new chairman of Dona Football Club in Alimosho Local Government Area, Chief Aluko Abayomi, has assured the coaching crew and the players of the club a better welfare package for them to excel in the forthcoming Lagos State league and other soccer competitions.

Abayomi, a sports philanthropist in the area who has just taken over the club, made this promise while addressing the club management on what the club will benefit from the new management.

Abayomi, who is the Akogun of Totoun land, said sponsoring the club is part of his contribution to sports development in the state.

He revealed that he had bought new kits for the players and is ready to support them financially if they can do well in the state league and other football competitions.

“Taking over the club will bring the best out of the players. I want to support them financially so that they can give their best in the state league and other football competitions they engage in,” he said

Abayomi charged the coaching crew led by Adedoyin Stephen to brace up for the challenges ahead, saying only good players should be selected into the team.

In his response, Stephen expressed gratitude to the sponsor and promised better days ahead. He said the coaching crew has concluded plans to organise open screening exercise which will begin on 6 September at Totoun playground, Egan, Alimosho, Lagos State.

“I am happy that a lot of players in Alimosho have shown interest in the programme. We will shortlist 15 players to fortify the team at the end of the exercise,” he said.
