Community Grateful Over Housing Scheme

The people of Ijagemo in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have expressed happiness and satisfaction over the establishment of Iba New Town Development Scheme expected to provide units of affordable houses to the entire residents of the area and improve the socioeconomic activities of the community.

Speaking with Lagos Bulletin on behalf of the community, head of Ijagemo, Chief Akibu Alade Salau Bada, thanked Governor Fashola for his visit to the town and also for accepting his plea to spare the structures already built on government acquired land earmarked for the housing scheme.

According to him, “the state has considered our appeal on compassionate grounds and promised not to demolish the structures already built on the acquired land, but warned against further encroachment on the land by land speculators.”

He commended the state government’s infrastructure development through provision of affordable houses to the people.

He assured of continued support of the people of Ijagemo to the state government, while giving kudos to the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Bosun Jeje; Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Oluwatoyin Ayinde and Special Assistant to the Governor on Housing, Mr. Jimoh Ajao, saying their appointment was well deserved.
