Provost Pledges To Transform College

The new Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Prof. Olurotimi Akeusola, has promised of a complete turnaround in not only the academic development of the school.

Professor Akeusola, who was appointed the fourth Provost of the institution recently, also promised a big improvement in infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), agriculture, staff and students’ welfare, discipline and security, among others.

While expressing his gratitude to the Lagos State Government for giving him the opportunity to serve, he commended his predecessors for laying a solid foundation for the college from where he, with the cooperation of the staff, students, immediate community, ALMUNI and the government shall take the school to higher pedestal.

On resumption, Akeusola met with principal officers of the institution before embarking on an on-the-spot assessment of facilities on ground.

At the college library, he revealed that in his action plan, an up-to-date analogue and digital e-library will be provided to link the school with global visual and digital libraries.

He promised a revolution in the agriculture education department where, apart from the primary assignment of teaching the students the rudiments of agriculture, commercialisation of the department shall be pursued to generate income for the college.

He charged the works department of the institution to be prepared for the challenges ahead as the infrastructure development of the college is paramount in his agenda to make the college a model.

Akeusola said the tour gave him the opportunity to be acquainted with the challenges and prospects of the institution with a view to addressing them appropriately.

He revealed that going by the potential that abound in the school, the transformation of the school to a full fledged university is feasible within a short time.
