Specifically, Governor Mimiko who spoke while hosting the Moslem community in the state led by the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Adbul Hakeem Yayi Akorede, shortly after their Eid-prayers charged the Moslem faithful to pray for divine healing of the nation from wanton waste of lives and property that had characterised the polity in recent times.

Mimiko noted that unless they dedicate themselves to the teachings and ways of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) all their sacrifices and fasting during the 30 days fasting period would amount to nought.

The governor equally stressed that the piety, devotion, spirit of oneness and neighbourliness done during the holy month of fasting must continue even after fasting in order to take the country to greater heights.
