Former Lagos State commissioner of Police and social critic, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has slammed President Goodluck Jonathan for the state of insecurity in the country.

He also expressed outrage over the violent crisis that erupted between Christians and Muslims in Jos that led to the death of over 20 people and destruction of over 50 vehicles.

He noted that the Quran does not propagate violence but peace.

Tsav, who stated this in Makurdi in a chat with P.M.NEWS after the Eld-Fitiri prayers, maintained that the series of security challenges facing the nation is as a result of failure of the Jonathan administration, adding that Federal Government has failed in all ramifications, taking into consideration the violence across the country.

He lamented that President Jonathan rather than address the security problems, poor infrastructure as well as tackle the lingering power sector problem, is busy agitating for a single term of 6 years for himself.

Tsav also lamented that what the country is operating is a government of ‘come and chop’, arguing that honest and competent persons are left out in the governance of Nigeria.

“There are several of Okonjo Iwealas outside this nation that are making us proud but we are deliberately shutting them out and instead running a government of let my brother chop,” he stated.

He blamed the state of insecurity in the country on poor education and lack of supervision of police officers by their bosses, adding that the Federal Government has also failed to take steps to beef up security nationwide.

“There are no proper security checks. Every one except the president, governors and their deputies are exempted from checks but all Nigerians irrespective of their status should subject his or herself to checks,” he said.
