Igbo Coalition Supports Yaba LG Boss For 2nd Term

Igbo United Political Coalition (IUPC), Yaba Mainland, Lagos has reaffirmed its support for a second term for the Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Abdul Raheem Olajide Jimoh.

Chairman of the coalition, Comrade Mba Temple said his group was supporting Jimoh for a second term in office because of his selfless service, commitment and hard work towards the development of the area.

“We are the only Igbo political group in Yaba. If anyone is claiming to be a member of any group or coalition in Yaba, it is faceless and not recognized.

“In the last three years of his administration, Hon. Jimoh embarked on projects such as road construction, rehabilitation of schools, primary health care centres, drilling of boreholes in schools, police stations, among others,” he stated.

Comrade Mba explained further that the area had been relatively peaceful with all ethnic groups working in harmony.

“Igbo are happy with their inclusion in his administration. We have served in various capacities. His administration is a government of unity. His first tenure has added value to the lives of the people,” he said.

Recently, Hon. Jimoh distributed materials to residents of the area to alleviate their poverty. Items distributed include canoes and fishing materials to fishermen at the riverine community of Makoko.

Traders and artisans were also given various foodstuffs and tools.

“The way he carried us along during the voters’ registration exercise and the election proper made us, Igbo, to come out enmasse to register and cast our votes for the ACN during the last general elections.
