Smart Striker Coach Hails Team For Winning Anyaoku Cup

Chief Coach of Smart Striker, Sulaiman Kasali, has expressed happiness that his team lifted this year’s U-16 Emeka Anyaoku Cup.

In the final encounter watched by a large crowd at the Astro Turf of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Smart Strikers Football Club of Oke-Aro,Ogun State humbled Stanley Football Club of Ulakwo, Owerri, Imo State 4-0 to lift the 4th edition of Anyaoku Cup

Kasali told GSG that his team were at their best form which paved way for their victory. He also commended his players for their doggedness and determination displayed throughout the encounter.

“We were good today (Sunday) and we deserved to win the game. I am happy that my players played to instructions which really helped them to humble their opponents. We are not going to rest on our oars because we want to defend this title come next year,” he said

Captain of Smart Striker, Taiwo Segun, admitted that the encounter was tough but thank goodness that his team came out victorious.

“We won the game because we played as a team. It was a difficult match because our opponents are equally good but we were technically better than them,” he said

The chairman Organising Committee Nurudeen Agara expressed satisfaction with standard of the two finalists saying that better team won the encounter.

Cup donor, Chief Emeka Anyaoku who was pleased with the officiating and organization of the tournament congratulated the two teams for reaching this year’s final and promised that the next edition will be more glamorous and better.
