Akiolu Advises On Ramadan Lessons

The Chief Imam of Lagos, Alhaji Garuba Akinola and Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwanu Osuolale Akiolu, on Tuesday, advised residents of Lagos to always put all the lessons learnt during the month of Ramadan into practice and ensure that they do not depart from them.

This advice was contained in the message delivered by the duo at the Obalende Muslim prayer ground in Lagos where Muslims converged for successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

Akiolu urged muslim faithful to ensure continued peaceful co-existence with their fellow men irrespective of race, creed and religion, which, according to him, would enhance rapid development and growth of the state and the nation in general.

He also commiserated with the families of the victims of both Ibadan flood and the Abuja bomb blast, praying that the Almighty Allah would give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Meanwhile, at the special celebration of the 2011 Eid-el- Fitri organised by Lagos Ministry of Home Affairs and Culture at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Lagos, the state’s First Lady, Mrs Abimbola Fashola, urged residents of the state not to relent in their prayers for the peaceful co-existence in order to ensure that Lagos State maintains its leadership role in Nigeria.

Those in attendance at the Lagos House event were representatives of market men and women as well as politicians and top government officials.
