Apostolic Church Commiserates With Flood Victims


The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, has expressed its condolence with the government and people of Oyo State over last Friday’s flood that left many people dead and properties worth million of naira destroyed.

Pastor Gabriel Oladele Olutala, JP, president of the church, who condoled with the families of the flood victims on behalf of the church, lamented the sorry state of drainage channels; which he said, have left many Nigerians at the mercy of floods each time it rains.

The church president called on the various governments to live up to their responsibility in arresting the situation so as to prevent similar disaster from recurring. While commending the leaders for their prompt response to issue affecting the people,

Olutola called for the strict enforcement of laws prohibiting construction on drainages.

He called on other state governments to learn from what happened in the Lagos and Oyo states to proactively act against flooding.

He called on the Federal Government and well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of those affected by the flood.
