Benue SUBEB To Access N4.2b Intervention Fund

In order to enhance the quality of Education in Benue State, the State Universal Basic Education Board has concluded plans to access N4.2 billion intervention fund.

This is to improve the standard of primary education in the State. The fund is also expected to be to be injected into the completion of primary schools projects in the three senatorial districts of the state.

This was disclosed by the state Governor, Gabriel Suswam during the commissioning of three classroom blocks at the NKST Primary School, Wadata, Suswam further restated the commitment of his administration to uplift the educational sector.

He stressed that the construction and rehabilitation of schools will be a continuous process.

He plead for co-operation and support from Benue people to enable his administration complete all on-going projects.

In her opening remarks, the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Elizabeth Ugoh, maintained that the government will continue to make education a focal point through the provision of equipment, employment of qualified teachers as well as rehabilitation of classrooms and urged well meaning individuals to join hands with government in ensuring that education in the state is taken to higher heights.

The acting chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Dr. David Tsevende, revealed that the board has fashioned out strategies to move primary education in the state forward and bring about prompt implementation of the UBE programme in the state.
