Security has been beefed up at the Lagos State secretariat where the offices of Governor Babatunde Fashola and his deputy, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, are located.

The main entrance and exit points to the Deputy Governor’s office, were Thursday barricaded by security officials on the order of Governor Fashola, while security in the entire secretariat has been beefed up.

Visitors and staff of the Lagos State government are now barred from using the entrance and exit which were always left open to anyone who wanted to use them.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tunde Shobulo, was at the secretariat to ensure strict compliance with the directive.

P.M.NEWS learnt from some police sources that there has been security report concerning the State and a possible attack on some important areas of the state.

“Henceforth, there will be strict security consciousness in the state,” a source said.

P.M.NEWS also learnt that the security presence in the state secretariat would be continuous as the police and other security operatives do not want to leave anything to chance.

Only the Deputy Governor and her staff would now use the entrance and exit to her office henceforth.

Another police source explained that the governor gave the directive as a result of the precarious security situation in the country.
