The incident set the students and danfo drivers on a collision course as some danfo buses were impounded and driven into the premises of the university, while the injured female student was rushed first to an undisclosed hospital in Maryland, before eventually admitted at the emergency unit of LASUTH in Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

However, our reporter, who arrived LASU this evening observed that tempers were boiling among the staffers and students of the university as news filtered into the campus that the female student died this morning at the hospital

Some restive students were seen discussing angrily and threatened to deal with danfo drivers, who drive near Maryland or its environs, even as some of them vowed to make Lagos ungovernable if the police fail to fish out the killer danfo driver .

The tense situation snowballed this evening into a riot and the police were called in to restore normalcy.

Samuel Jinadu, Lagos State police spokesman, when contacted, said the police are on top of the situation.

He said police officers from Anthony Village Police Station are already on ground on the campus to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order.
