Forget About League Title, Erinfolami Warns First Bank

Chief coach of First Deepwater Basketball Club of Lagos, Lateef Erinfolami, has vowed to retain Zenith Bank basketball league title, warning his arch rivals, First Bank Club of Lagos, to stop nursing the ambition of reclaiming the title from his team.

Erinfolami, whose team are the current champions of the premier league, spoke to P.M Sports during Olumide Oyedeji’s basketbal clinic, an event that was held inside the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Reacting to comments made by First Bank coach, Aderemi Adewunmi, that his team will reclaim the premiear league title from First Deepwater when the third phase of the league gets underway, Erinfolami said: “They should forget about the premier league title because we are not ready to let go of it now.”

The coach said his team are determined to remain the champions of the premier league, no matter the strategies of other clubs to win the league title.

“We are on course to make sure we retain the title we won for the first time last year. I am aware of all the plans of our rivals to hijack the trophy from us at the third phase of the premier league, but I want them to know that we are equally ready for them.

“First Bank, Sunshine and few others gave us a run for our money last two seasons, but despite being relatively young in the league, we were able to curtail them.

” We beat the former champions, First Bank, who had been a hard nut to crack for most teams for so many years,”he said.
